Albert Cabestany returns to the World Cup with Gas Gas

Just a year after announcing his retirement, Albert Cabestany announces that he will put on a bib again to compete in the Trial World Championship, but with nuances compared to his previous career as a professional rider.

Albert Cabestany’s new professional challenge will be in the TrialE category, reserved for
electric trial motorcycles
. As in 2018, this category will have two scoring races: Dutch GP (22 June) and Belgian GP (29 June).

Albert Cabestany
hung up his boots after a last season with Beta and not having an attractive proposal to stay active during 2020 in the top flight of the world championship, where he regularly remained in the top 5. Since then, Cabestany has been focused on his trial school, located in the Parcmotor de Castellolí, where he usually trains with a
Gas Gas TXT Racing 300
.
The bike that Cabestany will ride will be this Gas Gas TXTe, but with a swingarm and improvements part of the 2019 cycle.

Cabestany said: “I’m thrilled to be part of the team and help lead this new bike into a better future in our sport. I’m already looking forward to giving gas and above all to enjoy myself.”

LORIS GUBIAN ANNOUNCES EXIT FROM GAS GAS

The arrival of Cabestany, on the other hand, has motivated, we do not know if directly or indirectly, that
Loris Gubian, 2018 TrialE World Champion,
is left out of the Gas Gas team just one week before the start of the championship. The French rider himself said it this way on his social networks: “Unfortunately, it was already a dream, this project was close to my heart, but unfortunately they replaced me without even warning me (Gas Gas), it doesn’t matter, I will just remember the good times that gave me this great project, I wish you the best of luck. I wish all the riders in this TrialE World Championship that the best… I’ll look for new adventures, see you next time. Life sometimes has surprises in store for us. I’m following my dream.”
