Adam Raga forced to apologise to FIM

Raga Face 480Adam Raga has received a wake-up call from the FIM in relation to a statement at the end of the Indoor Trial in Chambéry (France), where the FIM accuses the rider of addressing the members of the FIM, Michaud and Willoughby, in a way that “Disrespectful, false and offensive” on the decision-making process in relation to the new regulation, even calling them “Mafia”. All these statements are included in the letter that the FIM has sent to Raga, asking him to make public his apologies before the celebration of the second GP, which will be this weekend in the USA.

Although the Non-stop regulations (see comparison video here) are causing a great stir and disagreement among most drivers, what is indisputable is that the main ambassadors of this sport in the world must behave in an exemplary way. Their duty is to continue to create fans and help the brands they represent increase their sales. Selfish or misplaced behaviors should be penalized.

LETTER FROM ADAM RAGA IN RESPONSE TO THE FIM

“In relation to an official FIM warning against me, issued by its president Vito Ippolito. It all started with my opinion against the FIM’s unilateral decision to make the 2013 world championship non-stop. Aside from my right to disagree, I would like to apologise if any of my statements were misunderstood, and FIM members, or anyone else, thought I was talking about them in a disrespectable way.

I am aware that due to the global crisis, the FIM has to do a lot of things to make it easier for the riders to participate in the World Championship.

Since my first international career in 1998, I have always tried to act in an irreproachable way. And it is my commitment to continue helping, through my riding and behavior, that our great sport continues to grow.”
