Although the season is not over yet, I think now is the time to discuss the testing schedule for 2014, why? It’s very simple!
This year there have been countless trials. Several coincidences of dates have caused both riders, as well as the organizing motorcycle clubs, to have had some
“headache”,
bad mood and in some cases anger, for not being able to organize their trial on the desired date. Can this be corrected?
It’s complicated and even more so for those who have to coordinate all the dates and all the tests requested, but let’s see if, together, we can make it a little easier, hehe…
Taking into account that the world championship is separate, it is followed, in order of hierarchy, by the state championships, then the regional championships and finally… social championships and/or popular trials.
I mean… that it will not be possible to organize a social trial, if there is a date set for a regional championship. Nor can a trial of the regional championship be organized, if that same day a state championship has already been scheduled. We always talk about trials of the same specialty.
Yes, it is possible to organize the same day, a regional trial of modern and a social trial of classics , but it is completely inadvisable, since there are riders who will want to run both trials, even though they are two different specialties.
We also have to take into account that there are tests that, normally by tradition, already have the established date, as may be the case of the three days of Santigosa at Easter, the trial of Joanetes on September 11th, the Montesada on October 12th or, at an international level, the Scottish, which are always held the first week of May. There are more international trials with specific dates, but entering into this could be even more detrimental to the trial in our country, so I will refrain from commenting on these dates.
In addition, it should be taken into account that trials can start to be organized from January 1. You don’t have to wait until mid-March to start the season. I remember with great nostalgia the Reyes trial, which was always the first trial of the year and in which most of us were eager to be able to participate.
To request tests you will have to take into account the weather, especially in winter and summer (the most complicated times of the year), but I am of the opinion to request tests on the coast or places with non-extreme temperatures in winter and not to request tests in summer, apart from those carried out in the Pyrenees or high mountain areas. We also have to be aware at all times in our trial schedules of the danger of fire (even if it has never been proven that it can be caused by a motorcycle).
With all this data and from here… The dates would have to be distributed in the best possible way, both for the organizing Moto Club, and for the rider who will go to those trials. Attached is the 2014 calendar.
Although only the regional holidays of my community are recorded, I think it can be of help when it comes to pointing out a trial and if not, also, there is always the help of the different delegates or commissions of each federation.
