has closed the indoor competition and has done it in the best shape. It has been a great season for the Repsol Honda Team rider, with five wins out of a possible six and new records for the multi-time champion: 13 X-Trial titles, 75 podiums and 62 victories.
The 2019 X-Trial championship kicked off in Budapest, Hungary, in mid-January with excellent riding by Toni Bou, who won the first final of the year despite being convalescing from an injury sustained in Japan in December in which he fractured two ribs. Fujinami was unable to qualify for the second phase of the X-Trial.

In Barcelona, the second event of the year, Toni Bou suffered a fall in one of the sections, in which he hit his back hard. This deprived him of extending his twelve victories in his home race. The second final position was not a bad result, as it kept him with a chance in the championship. His teammate Fujinami came close to advancing to the round.
The third event on the calendar was still in Spain. The X-Trial in Bilbao made its debut in the world championship with a narrow victory for Toni Bou two weeks after the race in Barcelona. Even though he was not physically 100%, the Repsol Honda rider gave his all to finish at the top and return to the sole lead of the championship standings.

Just a week later, the city of Granada returned to the top X-Trial competition with a demanding route in which Toni Bou felt very comfortable in a final that he dominated despotically. From the top of the podium, with his sixtieth victory in hand, and his main rival on the left, he left the championship ready to celebrate the title in the next round.
In Marseille, Toni Bou was crowned the 2019 X-Trial World Champion with one round to go. It was enough for the rider from Montesa to finish ahead of Raga and the latter was left out of the final after being overtaken by Jeroni Fajardo in the previous round. The Repsol Honda Team rider had another great night in a difficult race, perfect for celebrating his 13th title.

Toni Bou had never participated in an indoor event in Andorra before, something that particularly motivated him, as he lives in the country of the Pyrenees. With such encouragement, the champion did not fail and once again delighted the public with another great night of X-Trial to celebrate with his family the gold medal that ended up hanging from his neck on the final podium. It was the fifth victory of the season for Bou, who saw his teammate Fujinami take fifth place, his best result as a guest rider in the competition.
