The Spanish Classic Trial Cup held its second round of the 2021 season this weekend. It was a great race with 12 two-lap sections and two days of competition that were very different due to the weather. On Saturday these were perfect because, although they were on mountain slopes, they had pine trees, grass, very shallow mud and since it didn’t rain, the terrain was very good. But this changed on Sunday as the rain did not stop falling from the beginning of the day to the end.
For this reason, the areas were impracticable and the organization had to modify them because there were some places that became very complicated. The Moto Club Sotobike did a great job and the riders left very satisfied.
THRILLING FIGHT FOR VICTORY
The best riders in Spain came together in this race, but they were not alone as Robregordo had the pleasure of having the presence of some Englishmen who delighted everyone. One of them was Michael Grant, an 8-time winner of the Isle of Man TT who, along with his compatriots, felt at home on Sunday in the downpour.
In Experts, Diego Urreta, Alberto Moreno and Jaume Subira occupied the three boxes of honour while in Classics Enrique Juanes, José Enrique Romero and Martín Gilbert did so. Robin Luscombe was the protagonist of Trialeros, leaving Manuel Campoy and Francisco Guzmán as second and third, respectively.
Jorge Alberto Selma won in Pre-75, Rafael Asins was second and José María Cosculluela third. On the other hand, in Pre-80 he had Roberto Mendibil, Francisco J. Aldecoa and José Gabriel Dasi in the photograph of winners .
Trial recognized with the Green Sport Flag
This race was recognized with the Green Sport Flag as a sustainable and environmentally friendly event. The pilots of this discipline practice their sport in the natural environment and take care of it without hesitation every time they go out into the mountains.
The next round of the RFME Spanish Cup of Classic Trials will be held on November 20 and 21 in Sigüenza, Guadalajara.
