Toni Bou wins in Cabanillas and is proclaimed Spanish Champion

Tonibou Nacional2014Toni Bou has won his sixth Spanish Trial Championship title after winning a very close race in Cabanillas de la Sierra (Madrid), a town that had not hosted a race of this nature since 2006.

Under the baton of Emedoce, Mobbers and the Madrid Motorcycling Federation, 12 zones were proposed in two large groups to favor the arrival of an audience that has been able to enjoy the best riders in the world in full, since unlike Pobladura de las Regueras, here there was a Adam Raga fully recovered from his scaphoid injury.

In action, but if there was so much room for recovery we saw Fajardo, who a few weeks ago underwent surgery on his shoulder and was not able to be at the level as high as we are used to.

From a sporting point of view, in TR1 we witnessed a race classified by the drivers themselves as “very easy”, something that has been recorded in the low records of their cards. Bou started by opening some sections that he had to overcome twice in a row, adding between both passes throughout the course a total of 3 points (2+1), half the number of their biggest rivals, Adam Raga (2+4), completing the podium Cabestany with a total of 7 points (5+2).

Gelabert2014With this triumph Toni Bou is already mathematically Spanish Champion 2014 with one race left to play, where the excitement will be in the fight for the runner-up position between Cabestany and Fajardo.

A good race by Jorge Casales, followed by a Pol Tarrés who knew how to maintain the position against Fajardo and the new in the category, Jaime Busto.

In TR2 victory and mathematical title for Miquel Gelabert , ahead of Arnau Farré and Marcos Méndez, also highlighting the participation of Marc Riba, who in Candeleda already mathematically scored the title in Junior. Precisely in Junior the triumph has been for Julián Montalvo, followed by Samuel Obrador and Adrián Villabrille. In TR3 there was a low participation with only four riders, but with the classic dominance of Francesc Recio, who has also been mathematically proclaimed Spanish Champion in his category.  Gabriel Marcelli has done the same in Cadete, scoring victory and title, while in TR4, where Luis Pastor has won, the war is still open.

The eighth and last round of CET 2014 will be held on the weekend of November 15 and 16 at Colonia Cal Rosal, in Barcelona, and will be run by the Moto Club Baix Berguedà. Once again, the TR1, TR2, TR3, TR4, Junior and Cadet categories are called.

Toni Bou: “I can only say that I am very happy! It was a very easy race and, after winning in Ávila, I had to open up sections. The level of the sections was low and I tried not to make mistakes, as it was very easy to leave one foot and not be able to recover it. In the first run we were very close in points and you couldn’t make a mistake. In the end, I was able to take off and win the race. I’m also very happy to get this sixth Spanish Championship title, and even more so before the end, since it’s a championship that is very difficult to win.

It’s been an incredible year, winning the Indoor, Outdoor World Championship and the Spanish Championship, as well as the Trial of Nations. To be able to revalidate all the titles is fantastic. Now we have to enjoy this moment of glory.”

Adam Raga: “This test has gone quite well for us considering the scaphoid injury and the short time that has passed since the operation at the end of September. The terrain was dry and hot, and although the sections were relatively easy you couldn’t afford any mistakes. In the end, the scoring was very close, we were at the front and it was a positive weekend for us, as it was not an easy test. I’ve felt good, I’ve been training for a few days now and I’m almost back to 100%. My chances of the title were lost after I missed the Candeleda race due to the operation, so now our goal is to go race by race and get the best possible result in each one, like today, that we have given a good image in our return to  the national”

Jorge Casales: “It was quite a tough race and very hot. Yesterday the areas seemed easier but today, the truth is that they have become more complicated. We tried to stay on our line from the beginning of the race and in the end we got a good position. I’m satisfied with this fourth place and being at the front, although I would have liked to have been a little closer in the
points from the podium positions. Now we have only one round left, Cal Rosal, to finish the championship, and we will continue with our motivation to achieve another good result there.”

Arnau Farré: “The level of the Cabanillas test was quite strong for us. In the first section I started badly, with a five, but then I was able to redirect the race and we finished the first lap with only 12 points. In the second section, I started much better but I left a few extra feet and, in the fourth section, I made a fiasco. In general, everything went well for me except for the twelfth section, where I scored three points on each lap. However the feeling was good, I’m happy with my second place because we knew how to push forward and I felt very good on the bike. As I already have the second position of TR2 secured, it is likely that in Cal Rosal, the last race, I participated in TR1”
