Toni Bou will not participate in the X-Trial in Budapest

Recently proclaimed World Champion in Paris twelve times FIM X-Trial World Champion, the Spanish rider of the Repsol Honda Team Toni Bou will not be in the final race of the series.

Toni Bou reappeared in competition just twenty-seven days after
breaking three vertebrae in an X-Trial test at Le Man
s. In Paris he returned with the firm determination to mathematically achieve
the title of World Champion
, or his twelfth world crown. Despite achieving the goal, the Repsol Honda Team rider suffered severe pain in his lower back, a clear symptom that he was not yet fully recovered. Following a recent medical visit, the rider has decided not to take part in the seventh and final race of the FIM X-Trial World Championship in Budapest on Thursday to continue his recovery from injury.
In Budapest, on the other hand,
Gabriel Marcelli and Luca Petrell
will be the guest drivers.
Toni Bou:

It’s a shame that I can’t run in Budapest, but the doctors have told me that it’s better that I don’t take any more risks. It’s the most sensible and logical option I have, since I overdid it by participating in Paris. I have a very loaded part of my spine and it is a very sensitive area, where many nerves pass. The hours after the X-Trial in Paris weren’t very good, to be honest, and I think it’s best not to race in this one and think about recovery. With the title in hand I can think more coherently and the decision we made this time I think was the smartest one if I want to come back strong in the next races.
