Toni Bou dominates at CET Andorra

This weekend the third round of the National Trial was held in Sant Julià de Lòria. Up to 11 categories have come together in Andorra in the 3 Nations Trophy, scoring points for the Spanish, Andorran and French Championships. On Saturday Cadet, TR4, Women, Youth and Veteran entered the competition and this Sunday TR1, TR2, Junior and TR3.

Today the strong wind was the protagonist and the riders had to fight against it and pass through the areas prepared by the organization in the best possible way. Some of them have passed through the Valira River, with a large flow of water, which has demanded a lot from them.

Toni Bou overtakes his rivals and remains the leader of the TR1 overall standings

Toni Bou was playing “at home” and had the added pressure of having to do well, but this was not a problem for the rider from Montesa, as he successfully passed all the passes through the sections in the two laps. Yesterday he was also first in qualifying and with 9 points on his card he was better than Adam Raga, who had to settle for second, and Jaime Busto, who closed the top three.

Declarations

Toni Bou:

“We knew that the race would be rather easy and so we had to be very focused. We fought hard to get the win, which was very important, as we are practically at home. We’ve had two great weekends, winning in X-Trial and also in CET. I’m very happy with the victory and also with how the championship standings are with several points of margin over the other riders, but we will have to be attentive in the next races because we have seen that it is very difficult to mark the differences between riders.”

Jaime Busto:

“It was a trial that became a bit strange because they had to evacuate a person by helicopter, the race was stopped and the day was long. On the first lap, there were areas of river that covered a lot of water and I made a couple of mistakes. Despite them, I’m very satisfied with how I rode and super happy with my bike. The truth is that now we have the Spanish Trial Championship quite well, we are very close to Adam [Raga] and we are well positioned in the top positions. Now it’s time to continue like this, with this good riding, and prepare for the World Championship that starts at the end of this month in Italy.”

Jeroni Fajardo:

“Today was a bit of a tricky day for me. Despite having started very well and feeling comfortable, when we got to the river sections I didn’t find the necessary feeling and in five sections I dropped twenty-one points, which cost me a lot of positions. Then on the second lap we did much better, we turned to only three points and it looked like we could even save it and finish in third or fourth place, but in the end we were fifth. A result that perhaps is not as good as we expected, but within how the first half of the season went, it was finally good. Now it’s time to focus on the World Cup.”
