Toni Bou completes a perfect weekend in Germany

Toni Bou –
Montesa
– never ceases to amaze us. At the German Grand Prix –
see the report and qualifying of the first day of the race
– we experienced a new lesson in courage, talent and self-improvement. The reigning world champion is facing a very tough season, marked by his right shoulder injury at the beginning of the season, from which he has not recovered, in addition to the great rivalry he continues to have with Adam Raga –TRS Motorcycles– in the zones and the growing competitiveness of the new generation pilots.
None of this has prevented Toni Bou from taking his third consecutive victory of the season and consolidating his lead at the top of the provisional standings. In Gefrees (Germany) we witnessed a tough trial, with little traction and high scores.

Toni has had a career from less to more. On the first lap he already accumulated a minimal advantage over
Adam Raga
(18 vs 22 points), but it was in the second pass through the zones when he practically sentenced the race, signing a partial of only 4 points, to Raga’s 16. On this lap the surprise was Jaime Busto, who was in provisional third position.
On the last lap, the positions of Bou and Raga were maintained, while the last step of the podium was disputed between Busto, Dabill and Fujinami. In the end, it was James Dabill who took third place. Great performance by Jaime Busto, who continues to climb positions in the general classification and is already fifth.

Fujinami has been another of the great protagonists, since his regularity in Germany, added to the bad day that Cabestany -Sherco- has had today, signing the eleventh position, allow him to climb to the third provisional position of the championship.
In Trial 2 the victory went to Jack Price, followed by Dan Peace and Iwan Roberts. Arnau Farré –
Gas Gas
– was the best Spaniard today, eighth. In 125 victory for Jarmo Robrahn, followed by Jack Peace and Max Faude.
The next round of the FIM Trial World Championship will be on June 11 and 12, on the occasion of the Andorra Trial Grand Prix.

DECLARATIONS

Toni Bou: “I think that, after the extra mistakes I made on the first lap, I was able to rectify it and face a very good second lap. I was very tired from the effort I made yesterday, but I was much better, I felt much more comfortable riding the bike and the shoulder didn’t bother me. This weekend’s result is very good for the championship, because as I said and I will repeat until the end, this year will be very complicated.”
Takahisa Fujinami: “I think the best thing about this weekend is that I’m leaving Germany third in the World Championship! On the first lap I had a hard time, I wasn’t fine. I don’t know if it’s because I fell or because I was skating a lot. Then I got better. Thinking about it, if I finished so badly I finished fifth, I just hope that the next races go much better. The championship is long, but to be third is to look at it in a positive way. We will fight more in Andorra.”
Jaime Busto: “Yes, today I was a bit calmer when I was tracing in some areas. I did something good, but really, during the race I thought I was going much worse, and for me it was a surprise when I finished the race to see that I was in third place at the end of the second lap. I don’t know, I wasn’t quite fine and I can see that, sometimes, I don’t have to think about it because others also make mistakes. Yet another lesson to be learned.”
