Just five days after the Andorra TrialGP, where Toni Bou made an exhibition of superiority on both days, the Italian TrialGP arrived in Valsassina, in a terrain unknown to the vast majority of the riders as it was the first time that a TrialGP was held.
The terrain, which mixed areas of gravel, rocks and also river sections, put the drivers to the test on both days.
On Saturday due to the appearance of heavy rain and on Sunday, without rain, due to the accumulation of mud on the stones and ruts that formed on the lines.
In this video analysis of the Italian TrialGP in Valsassina we tell you all the keys to the race, including rumours and curiosities that do not come to light.
The highlight of this first day was the second lap of Toni Bou, who is only two points and managed to take less than half the penalties of the second-placed Matteo Grattarola, while the podium was completed by Marcelli, who equalled the Italian on the first lap, but lost five points on the second pass through the zones.
Only two points behind Adam Raga, and with three more Busto, followed by Casales.
The second day was conditioned by the physical discomfort of Toni Bou, who had already been dragging since Andorra, with occasional dizziness and a feeling that prevented him from riding concentrated.
These sensations were accentuated on Sunday and caused more mistakes than necessary, especially at the end of the first lap, where he was already second behind Busto.
The GASGAS rider finished off the feat with a spectacular second lap, finishing with a card of 39 points, four less than Bou and eleven less than Grattarola.
Behind, Adam Raga, fourth, and Marcelli one point behind the Sherco rider, with Aniol Gelabert closing the top 6.
With these results, Toni Bou extends his lead in the general standings over Toni Bou, which now amounts to 27 points.
Eight points behind is Adam Raga, third, with a two-point margin over Jaime Busto who is already hooked on the top 3.
JACK PEACE NEW LEADER OF TRIAL2
Alex Canales has not been able to maintain the leadership of the category after the Italian GP.
Two fifth positions have taken the Sherco driver to second place, 7 points behind Jack Peace, new leader of the category after a second and first position.
Closing the top3 of the general standings we have Arnau Farré, who won on Saturday, and Billy Green, who closes the group of 4 most outstanding riders in the championship.
Behind, 12 points behind, is Sondre Haga and his electric GASGAS after signing two eighth positions in Italy.
Gael Chatagno and the other electric bike, the Electric Motion, is sixth behind the Nordic rider.
GEORGE HEMINGWAY REMAINS UNBEATABLE
The younger Hemingway remains unbeaten in Trial3, already accumulating 18 points ahead of Romeo Piquet, who was second and fourth in Italy, and Euan Sim, seventh and second.
The podium on the first day was completed by Jonas Jorgensen, who gave Beta an important hat-trick in the category.
The next round of the TrialGP World Championship will take place in Germany in three weekends’ time.
