Takahisa Fujinami successfully operated on his wrist

Takahisa Fujinami suffered a fall during the seventh edition of the Carpentras Urban Trial, in France, in which he fractured the scaphoid bone in his left wrist. The rider underwent surgery this week, in which an osteosynthesis was carried out with a compression screw to fix and stabilise the injury.
A recovery period of about four weeks is estimated so the medical services, supervised by doctors Terricabras and Mir, are confident that he will be able to participate in the last race of the 2016 FIM World Championship.
Takahisa Fujinami is positioned in third place in the provisional standings and, with two races to go, is 14 points ahead of the fourth-placed rider.

Takahisa Fujinami:
The operation went well, according to what the doctors have told me. It was necessary to be able to race in Italy. I won’t be 100%, but I have confidence in the doctors, who have told me that I will be able to race to defend third place, which is the goal. I wanted to compete no matter what, and I’ll give it my all to get my best season in recent years.
