Swedish GP | A brace for Toni Bou, who remains unbeaten

tonibou 2015Sweden
Toni Bou has achieved 6 wins out of a possible 6 this
season A perfect weekend for Toni Bou in Boras (Sweden), where he added his third consecutive double of the outdoor season and extends his lead at the top of the overall standings to 28 points.

The consistency in the results of Toni Bou contrasts with the rest of the riders who complete the “top 5”, who are at a very high level and the equality is maximum, making it difficult to be consistent in the results and thus hunt down Toni Bou. Without going any further, Adam Raga missed out on the podium on Saturday and Fajardo signed an extraordinary second place. On Sunday the tables were turned and it was the Beta rider who was left off the podium. Both riders are currently the main favourites for the runner-up position and, if possible, the ones in charge of putting Bou’s crown in trouble.

Fantastic third place for Cabestany on his second visit to the podium this season. Fajardo (62), Fujinami (63) and Dabill (65) finished very tightly behind him.

Another bittersweet day for Jaime Busto, who has not been comfortable in the slippery areas of the Swedish terrain. His seventh position is positive because of the great learning that the young Basque rider is acquiring.

The great feat of this weekend has been signed by Pol Tarrés, who just 4 months after his serious knee injury has made a maximum effort to be in Sweden. Yesterday wasn’t a good day, but today’s eighth position tastes like glory.

Trial World Championship action will return next week in Great Britain

DECLARATIONS

Toni Bou: It’s not bad to start the season like this! But today we had to fight a lot to win the race, because Adam was in front and we were very close during the second lap. The last lap was a lot of work and I was able to get the sixth victory, which I’m very satisfied with because we all worked very hard.
The gap in the championship is very important, because winning all the races is very difficult, but thanks to the rivals having exchanged, I am now 28 points ahead. I will keep fighting because a lot can happen in two-day races and there is a lot of championship ahead.

Takahisa Fujinami: On the first lap I started very well, I was perfect, and I didn’t know anything about points. I was fast, ahead of the other riders and had few points. Actually, I thought it was going worse, so I tried to recover afterwards, but I made several mistakes in a row. In zone 9 I punished the little toe of my left foot again and it hurt a lot. On the last lap I was terrible in zones 3, 4, and 5… I tried to recover but in the end I was very close to 4th… Which isn’t bad either. The knee has held up well. Now, my concern is on the finger.

Jaime Busto: Today the trial went better than yesterday, I felt better, and not so clumsy, even though the sections were slipping more. On the first lap it went badly, I recovered on the second, but on the third, in an easy area I made a fiasco and I couldn’t have finished better. In general, I’m quite satisfied because it’s about accumulating experience.

Miquel Cirera: There are few things to say, or only one: 6 out of 6. Today, however, it was more difficult to win, but the line we are taking is good. Fuji has done a bit badly, and Jaime has done better. The weekend has been positive and that makes the team happy. And we have to keep it up and try to do better. I also want to congratulate the team, mechanics and all the people behind these great riders, because they do a great job every day. Next weekend more.
