Success at the start of the Spanish Classics Cup in Sigüenza

This past weekend the Spanish Classic Trial Cup began in the beautiful municipality of Sigüenza, Guadalajara. The Moto Club Alcarreño was in charge of carrying out the race that had independent scoring on Saturday and Sunday.

With 140 riders, it was a real success in terms of participation, which shows that the speciality is in good health. In addition, the call for the PostClassics category has opened up the range of possibilities for lovers of this discipline.

On Saturday it rained a bit which meant that some areas, being clay, were a bit muddy but without difficulty for the riders. On Sunday, the sun came out, drying the ground and making the participants enjoy themselves. The organization was 10 and the race turned out to be a success.

On Saturday, José María Martínez was the winner of Pre75. Rafael Asins qualified second and Josep Vidal third. In the Manuel Soler Classics, José Enrique Romero won and left Rafael Sanroma and Carlos Bosch as second and third classified, respectively. Francisco Javier Antolín beat the rest of his rivals in Postclásicos Amarillas. Josep Lluis Marco was second and Antonio Domínguez third.

Roberto Mendibil, Jaume Jordana and Antonio Villanueva were the protagonists of Pre80 while Gabriel Dus, Mariano Gómez and Joan Carles Torner of Trialeros. In Postclásicos Verdes Miquel Cirera won, Bertrán Martínez-Peñalver was second and José Luis López third. Diego Urreta took the victory in Experts, Antoni Ramonet finished second and Jaume Mora third.

SECOND DAY OF RACING

On Sunday there were different winners in all categories. In Pre75 Rafael Asins was the protagonist, so he left José María Martínez second and Mario del Castillo third. Iñigo Querejeta won in the Manuel Soler Classics. Jesús Agudo was second and Rafael Sanroma third. Antonio Domínguez was the winner, on this occasion, in the Post Classics category. Francisco Javier Antolín had to settle for second and Josep Lluís Marco third.

Antonio Villanueva was the protagonist of Pre80 while Roberto Mendibil and Alberto Zarate finished second and third, respectively. In Trialeros the three best were Mariano Gómez, Gabriel Dus and Francisco Guzmán. In Post Clásicos Verdes Bertrán Martínez-Peñalver, Marino Galilea and Marcos González triumphed. Antoni Ramonet won in Experts, leaving Jaume Mora and Diego Urretra behind as second and third, respectively.

Green Sport Flag Badge

The race earned the Green Sport Flag distinction for being a sustainable event and respecting the environment.

The next round of the Spanish Classic Trial Cup will be held on April 30 and May 1 in Amurrio, Araba.
