Sergi LLongueras Elite 26″ Trial World Champion

Sergi Llongueras has won the title of Trial World Champion in the Elite category after narrowly beating Frenchman Vallee on the demanding route proposed by UCI Trials in Chengdu (China).

Sergi Llongueras arrived in Chengdu full of motivation and with the ambitious goal of improving on the runner-up finish in the world championship achieved in 2018.
Llongueras, a

rider, led the race from the first moment, leading the initial zone (30), extending the advantage over his rival in the second (60) and escaping in the third (40). In the fourth, however, he made a mistake and fell, scoring zero points.

At this point Vallee was ahead, but Sergi completed an almost perfect section (50) to regain first place, but Jack Carthy overtook him with a full house (60), but the Briton was penalized by the judges and would end up losing the first position in favor of Llongueras, who thus achieved the Trial World Championship in the Elite 26 category.

“I’m speechless, it’s a dream come true. I’ve trained very hard for this, I started the year with an injury, I had to go under the knife and I’ve had to wait a long time to get here. I’ve given everything I had and I’m very, very happy.”
