Sandra Gómez, runner-up in the 2016 women’s trial world championship

The French ski resort of Isola 2000 lifted Sandra Gómez to second place in the Women’s Trial World Championship, the best result for the Spaniard in her career in trial, after having previously been third in 2012 and 2014.

rider thus rounds off a season full of sporting successes and achievements for the brand at an international level. A year to which, in addition to Sandra Gómez’s runner-up, two more titles have been added, the Trial 2 and Trial125 world crowns, at the hands of the British Jack Price and Jack Peace, and the third final place of Dan Peace in junior.

Sandra Gómez’s second place in this last round of the calendar allowed the Gas Gas rider to secure the second place in the championship after adding only 8 feet throughout the two laps of the course.
A full weekend for the Spaniard who only a day later climbed back to the second step of the podium, this time with Spain, in the Trial of Nations held in the same resort. Two results that close the season in the best way for Sandra Gómez in her first year with

Sandra Gomez: “We travelled straight to France from the Italian GP, knowing that depending on my result at Isola2000, I could either finish second or fifth in the championship. So I arrived with a lot of enthusiasm, very motivated to a race that I have always liked and of which I have good memories, since my brother won the world championship there. It was perhaps too easy a race, with too few feet. Emma (Bristow) finished with 2 and I finished second with 8. And the truth is that this year she has been more consistent than the rest of the riders in the world championship. For my part, I’m very happy with this runner-up position. I think it’s a result that has to be valued a lot after a somewhat strange year, in which I joined Gas Gas a little late. However, this second place will give us strength and motivation to train and try to fight for first place next year.”
