Raga and Bou win in France

raga_out_460Toni Bou continues to lead the World Championships, after taking third place (first day) and first place (second day) in Bréal-sous-Montfort (France). The rider from Montesa was conditioned on the first day by the fact of opening the sections, and saw how a majestic Adam Raga climbed to the top of the podium. Also noteworthy is the fantastic performance of Jeroni Fajardo (Ossa), second just 2 points behind the rider from Ulldecona. For his part, Albert Cabestany went from less to more, counting a 4th and a 2nd place in the French round, leaving the general classification of the Championship in a handkerchief: Bou (55 points), Raga (48), Cabes (47), Fajardo (39) and Fujinami (39). Laia Sanz finished eighteenth in the Junior category and for the first time this season was out of the points. Alfredo Gómez and Francesc Moret have taken the first two positions in this section.

The rugged terrain of this region of Brittany, in a short-distance trial made up of natural and artificial areas, has witnessed a test in which many conclusions have been drawn. On the one hand, the reigning champion has been able to overcome the pressure of his rivals to face the 6 World Cup stopovers that are still to be played. On the other hand, the Raga-Cabestany duel promised intense emotions and so it has been. If the Gas Gas team won the game against the Sherco team on the first day, on the second day the situation was reversed. Also very important was the confirmation of Jeroni Fajardo’s magnificent performance at the controls of his Ossa, especially after the bad feelings in Germany. Fajardo had the podium in his sights and this time he didn’t miss.

In this intense fight for the top positions, there is a clear winner: the fans. The season promises to be very exciting, and we will have to be very attentive to the evolution of both sides. The next round of the World Championship will be the Spanish Grand Prix, which will be held on June 19 in the town of Pobladura de las Regueras in León.
