National Trial Preview in Candeleda – 28 September

Bou Arnedo14After the success achieved by the Spanish Trial riders this season in both the World Championship and the World Cup and in the Trial of Nations, male and female, the national competition returns this weekend in Candeleda, Ávila.

There will be the TR1, TR2, TR3, TR4, Junior and Cadet categories with everything to be decided in this 2014 season. A good number of registered participants will pass the verifications on Saturday and will be able to carry out the training sessions for the race on Sunday in the prepared areas.

MC Candeleda Gredos is in charge of its organization. The areas are nestled in the surroundings of the natural pools, as in previous years, with a predominance of granite rock, although there will also be some earthen rock.

In TR1, Toni Bou, Adam Raga and Jeroni Fajardo lead the table before reaching this race. Adam Raga will be the big absentee after recovering from the scaphoid operation carried out at the end of the Trial of Nations, the result of an unfortunate fall in the Cahors Street Trial.

In TR2 it is Miquel Gelabert (74), Arnau Farre (62) and Marcos Méndez (45). In TR3 Francesc Recio is first with 80 points, second is Rafa Latorre with 65 and third Adrián Artidiello with 58.

Adrià Albejano leads the TR4 standings with 91 points, followed by Luis Pastor (83) and Jesús Martín (65). In Junior Marc Riba is, at the moment, the best but he cannot be neglected because Jaume Roselló is hot on his heels in second position. Samuel Obrador is third, 25 points behind Sherco.

The Cadet classification is led by Sergio Ribau with 82 points but Gabriel Marcelli is second with 80. Ivan Ortiz is third with 75. Things are very tight in this category, although there are still three races to be played.

María Giró is the only female representative who is registered today. He will compete in Junior.

In just a few days the best Trial riders will be in Ávila for the celebration of this race. Fans from the Community of Castilla y León will be able to enjoy them on Sunday throughout the morning.
