Mecatecno Dragonfly T-18 electric

Mecatecno, the legendary brand of children’s motorcycles, resumed production by manufacturing electric children’s models, a very competitive market where it has three models in its catalog: T8, T10 and T14.
Their experience and the proliferation of Electric Trial Motorcycles for adults laid the foundations of what is today the Dragonfly T-18, a motorcycle that in its prototype version has already competed in the TrialE World Championship achieving a meritorious second position with Cesar Panicot at the controls.

MECATECNO DRAGONFLY T-18 ELECTRIC

Betting on a market as demanding and mature as the trial market for adults is a great challenge.
The chassis is made of chrome-molybdenum steel and comes from an Ossa, as does its swingarm. The chassis receives certain modifications in its upper part to receive the battery, as well as the double cradle to adjust to the geometries of the electric motor. The bodywork is the first thing that catches the eye, since at the front the whole is bulkier due to the battery housing, while the rear is simpler and lighter, since in this case the presence of an exhaust system or the air filter box is not necessary.
The declared power in this electric motor is 10Kw and the battery is 25Ah Li Ion. According to Mecatecno, this battery is quickly replaced. The advertised autonomy is 2 hours for engaging the short gear, i.e. the “trial” mode. The Dragonfly has a second gear for inter-zone and long-haul routes, with shorter duration. The battery full charge time is 1 hour and 45 minutes. Another noteworthy point is that the bike has an oil-dipped diaphragm clutch.

A WEIGHT OF 57 KILOS

The weight of the Mecatecno Dragonfly T-18 electric is, according to the manufacturer, 57 kilos. It is scheduled to go on sale at the beginning of next year and a price of around 7,000 euros has been announced.
Mecatecno has two official presentations planned. The first on September 24, in Baiona, coinciding with the Trial of Nations, and the second at its headquarters in Palau Solita i Plegamans (Barcelona) on September 29 and October 1.
