BIOGRAPHY OF JERONI FAJARDO

Jeroni Fajardo Vila was born in Girona on April 5, 1985. He is the youngest of three brothers. He was always a restless child who loved to be on the street and in the woods.
In February 1989 a test of the Spanish Championship was organized in his town and he had the opportunity to see in action great figures of trial such as Jordi Tarrés, Amós Bilbao, Marc Colomer, Lluís Gallach…
From this moment on, he tried to imitate the movements of his idols with his sister’s bicycle. Jeroni insisted that his father give him a Bike Trial bike and his father proposed a challenge to get it; Make a circle without putting your feet on the ground. He didn’t stop practicing until he succeeded, and his father had no choice but to keep his promise.
At the same time, his father gave him what would be his first motorcycle. A Puch 50cc motocross followed by a Merlin Fius 50cc trial bike. With her he did trials around the village, always under the supervision of his father and Joan Roig, a friend and great fan of trial.
In the village of Jeroni there were trial gymkhanas. His father noticed a special talent in him, he had a lot of balance and mastery; which encouraged him to support him and accompany him to training.

BIKETRIAL AS A BASIS

In 1992, at the age of 7, he competed for the first time in a race of the Catalan Championship in which he came second. That same year, he won the Catalan Championship and participated in two races of the Spanish Championship, winning one race in the Promise category.
In 1993 he went to the Bike Trial World Championship in the Poussin category. Jeroni was 8 years old, while the other children were 9 or 10; But there was still a place in the Spanish national team and he was the next qualifier. He finished in fourth place. In addition, he ended up Champion of Catalonia and Spain. That year, Monty gave him a prototype of a lighter, smaller bike.
The training sessions were becoming more frequent and more serious. From the age of 9 he dedicated his free time to Bike Trial. He trained hard for the ’94 World Cup, and it paid off. He was proclaimed World Champion. Later, he won two more in the Bike Trial mode and 2 in the Trial Sin modality.
At the end of 1997 they decided to make the leap to motorcycling. Jeroni was sponsored by Megamo, a company that was part of the Gas Gas group, so getting a motorcycle was easier.
The first Catalan Championship where he participated was in 1997, and he ended up winning it.
