Vertigo confirms that Jaime Busto will miss the 5th round of the 2020 X-Trial World Championship, scheduled for this weekend in Bilbao. Last Sunday the rider suffered a small injury to his right knee in the first round of the 2020 Spanish Trial Championship, a setback that will force him to rest for at least the next two weeks.
Third in the provisional standings of the X-Trial World Championship, Busto was one of the great attractions of the weekend given that the event is held just 20km from his native Górliz. A real shame for the rider and for many local fans, who were hoping to enjoy the unique and aggressive style of their most illustrious countryman.
According to the deadlines established by the doctors, Busto will be 100% ready for the second round of the CET, which will be held in Pontevedra on the weekend of March 14 and 15.
Miquel Gelabert will be in charge of defending Vertigo’s interests in Bilbao. He is currently 6th in the provisional standings, but he is only 2 points behind the 4th classified, so this weekend he will be looking to get a good partial result that will allow him to position himself again in the fight for the Top 3 of the championship.
