Following the successful integration of GASGAS, alongside KTM and HUSQVARNA Motorcycles & eBikes as the third brand of the Pierer Mobility Group, the company’s board of directors has decided to further strengthen its presence in Spain by building a state-of-the-art production facility in Terrassa, Catalonia.
Spain, and Catalonia in particular, with a strong tradition in motorcycle manufacturing and a professional network of suppliers, is the ideal location for this first European manufacturing plant 100% subsidiary of the Pierer Mobility group located outside Austria.
The new plant will house the brand’s production, R+D, purchasing, customer service and sports activities. With Pierer Mobility’s commitment to Catalonia and Spain, new jobs are created and the network of suppliers is strengthened.
The Generalitat de Catalunya has been an active part in the whole process, securing its financial and institutional support, as part of its reindustrialisation plan for Catalonia.
The first products to be manufactured at the new plant will be the full range of GASGAS trial motorcycles, with a production capacity of up to 5000 units per year, with a production start expected in the second quarter of 2022.
