, a period is now open for the different parties (administrator, staff, etc.) to study the offers.
During this time, the Commercial Court may also give the three interested firms the option to improve the initial proposals. After receiving the reports from the different parties, it will be up to the judge to decide who will be the new owner of Gas Gas.

THE SQUAD DEMANDS SPEED

The staff is demanding speed from the Mercantile to decide the future of the company and allow the production of motorcycles to resume as soon as possible. The secretary of the committee, José María Lara, explains that the 85 workers who remain are already on two temporary layoffs. The latter is still in force, it began to be applied in July and lasts for half a year.
“In total, we have practically already consumed 60% of our unemployment benefit, so we need a solution and start working now,” Lara said. The secretary also recalled that those workers who are dismissed will be left in a precarious situation, “because they have agreed to consume part of their benefit at the expense of having a future”. For this reason, the committee assures that from now on they will fight above all “for the social part”, with the aim of maintaining as many jobs as possible.
Gas gas went into liquidation at the beginning of July, as it was unable to renegotiate a debt amounting to 44.3 million euros. At the time, the company had already been in bankruptcy proceedings for two months. The company has kept production at a standstill since the beginning of the year and, to this day, the only way for resources to come in comes through the sale of spare parts
