Gabriel Marcelli and Luca Petrella make their debut at the X-Trial in Budapest

The X-Trial in Budapest will be the scene of the world championship debut for Gabriel Marcelli and Luca Petrella

The X-Trial World Championship continues to open the doors to the young talents of the speciality to promote their evolution in competition. In this way, the X-Trial of Budapest, which will be held on March 29 in the Hungarian capital, will be the scene of the world championship debut of two promising youngsters, the Spaniard Gabriel Marcelli (Montesa) and the Italian Luca Petrella (TRS).
Both, along with Japan’s Takahisa Fujinami (Repsol Honda Team) who returned to the podium of the FIM X-Trial World Championship with a third place in Paris last Saturday, and Miquel Gelabert (Sherco), who is one of the great revelations of the season, will join the Championship’s permanent riders: the recently proclaimed World Champion Toni Bou (Repsol Honda Team), the already runner-up in the World Championship Adam Raga (TRS), the Frenchman Bincaz (Scorpa) and the Spaniard Busto (Gas Gas) who are fighting for third place after Busto’s victory in Paris, and the British James Dabill (Beta).
Gabriel Marcelli, a young rider of only 18 years old, has in his palmarès the runner-up title of the Trial2 World Championship achieved last year with six podiums of which four ended up being victories.
For his part, 19-year-old Luca Petrella competed in the last X-Trial of Nations in which, as part of the Italian team, he qualified in fourth position. The young TRS rider took the runner-up finish in the Youth category in 2014.
