Crushing victory for Toni Bou in Arnedillo with new engine on his 4rt climb

ArnedilloCET returned to action in La Rioja and has not disappointed anyone. The third round of the season brought together the participating drivers in the TR1, TR2, TR3, TR4, Junior and Cadet categories. Among those registered was the champion Toni Bou as well as the greats Adam Raga, Albert Cabestany and Jeroni Fajardo. But not only these have been the focus of the attention of the fans who have filled the surroundings of the areas. The rest of the riders have also done a sensational job.

At 09:00 in the morning, the more than 55 registered participants began to leave, ready to give their all for Trial, the specialty they love. The MC Calahorra has been in charge of the organization and has prepared 12 areas for participants in the Barranco de las Yeseras. Due to the bad weather conditions of the last few days (on Friday and Saturday it was snowing), yesterday the Motoclub had to vary some areas and both their work and that of the Riojan Motorcycling Federation has been very good.

In TR1 Toni Bou won with quite a point difference over second-placed Adam Raga. Third we had Jeroni Fajardo. Toni has made only two penalties (one in each pass) while Gas Gas and Beta have added 13 and 15 respectively. The second step of the podium is therefore very close.

BUST PREVAILS IN TR2

Bou Nac 2013The TR2 winners were Jaime Busto, Oriol Noguera and Marc Prat. The MC Tona rider arrived in La Rioja as the leader of the general classification in this category and today he has achieved more advantage over his rivals. Jaime scored 25 points. Oriol 31 and Marc 32, so again the second position was very tight.

In TR3 Marc Horrach, also the provisional leader, overtook the rest of the riders in this class. Rafa Latorre and Adrián Artidiello they couldn’t keep up with Marc, who managed to do the trial without any fiasco. The one from Castellón has added one in the second pass to zone 10 and the one from MC Villaviciosa two, in zone 1 and 6.

TR4 has had Rubén García, Jesús Martín and Jesús Fuentes as the members of the podium of honor. Rubén has made 26 penalties, Martín 29 and Fuentes 34. For the first two, the second half of the season was better as they scored fewer points. On the other hand, for the MC Ciutat d’Albaida in the initial round, he had fewer mistakes.

FARRÉ WINS IN JUNIOR

The Junior category had a big winner. Arnau Farré. The rider from Beta has set himself apart from the other participants and has scored 18 points, much less than his great rival for the title, Nacho Fernández-Sancho (37). The third was Adrián Villabrille with 54 penalties.

Finally, Cadete was dominated by Oriol Pi, who managed to beat the rivals who were at the top of the general classification. The Sherco rider has scored 34 points. Gabriel Giro and Marc Miquel were the riders who accompanied him on the podium, going home with 41 and 44 points, respectively.

RAGA NAC2013The awards ceremony was held in the pavilion where zone 12 was also located. The mayor of the town of Arnedillo, Pedro Montalvo, a great fan of sports in general and trial in particular, did not want to miss the event and was together with the members of MC Calahorra and the Royal Spanish Motorcycling Federation.

On May 12, the riders of these same categories will face each other again in Sigüenza, Guadalajara, with the MC Alto Henares as the organizer of the event.

Toni Bou: “I’m very satisfied, as the bike worked very well throughout the day, a very important factor in this phase of its set-up. It has not been a complicated trial and the changes in conditions between yesterday and today have taken it to the easy side but even so it has been very positive not to make mistakes with a different bike and of which in a first balance I would highlight the response of the engine. It was a good step forward in what was the last outdoor event before the start of the World Championships. Obviously, with the change of the world championship to the non-stop format, the regulations are different, but the good feeling with the new Cota 4RT is there.”

Adam Raga: “I think I rode pretty well. I started at the front, and I only had reference from Cabestany, but I’m happy with how the day went. I only made one big mistake that I rectified on the second pass, getting a point in the zone. The journey was not easy at all. It was snowing and the areas have been a bit humid despite the sun coming out. As I say, I’m happy to finish second; maybe I could have done a little better, but I had a very good feeling ahead of the World Indoor Championships this coming Friday.”

Arnau Farré: “After a Saturday with tricky weather, snow and rain, Sunday turned out quite well, the areas were wet and slippery. This has made it more difficult to the trial, the second lap there were steps that were more difficult, slippery and complicated than in the first, I am satisfied with how the first lap went and the final result”.
