Toni Bou , the reigning Spanish Indoor Trial Champion, has topped off his lead for the 2011 title with a thrilling victory in Girona. Bou, who already won the first round, in Zaragoza, won again today at the Fontajau Pavilion in Girona against About four thousand spectators who have acclaimed their acrobatics and those of the rest of the riders, something they have been doing faithfully for the last XXIV editions in a test that is already a classic in the Festivities of San Narciso.
Joining him on the final lap were Albert Cabestany, who was second and thus also consolidates his runner-up position; both are still to hold the third round of the contest; and a surprising Jeroni Fajardo who, although he could not be in Zaragoza, made his reappearance in the “home” race with additional strength and rHe finished off a very good performance in which he managed to snatch the passage to the final from Adam Raga and was third.
In addition, he had to deal until the last moment with the always technical Cabestany who, in the last section, managed to get a better score than Ossa and climb to the second step of the podium.
Raga, who was finally fourth, finished the qualifying round tied on points with Moret and Borrellas, a tie-breaker that was resolved in favor of the Gas Gas rider. Fifth was Pere Borrellas, improving his seventh place in Zaragoza; sixth Moret and seventh Alfredo Gómez, who had to face Toni Bou in the pairs round.
For his part, Pol Tarrès finished in last position after an unfortunate performance and some technical problems with the Gas Gas.
In this way, everything is still to be decided for the last round of the season, the date and location of which will be announced in the coming days.
