Bou wins in Marseille

bou_2Toni Bou takes victory in Marseille and increases his lead at the top of the overall standings. Raga and Cabestany completed the podium. The negative note of the day was the heavy accident of Fujinami, who was forced to retire with a strong blow to the neck. Bou has increased his lead as leader of the X-Trial World Championship to 13 points

, a condition that he will defend on February 6

at the Indoor Trial in Barcelona, which will take place at the Palau Sant Jordi and will

close the first half of this competition.

FujiTakahisa Fujinami qualified for the final but suffered a crash in the final. third race in parallel, against Toni Bou, and was forced to retire affected by an injury to the cervical region. Toni Bou has obtained the best scores in each phase of this test, marked for its high level of demand. The multi-time world champion has solved the qualification with two points, four less than Raga, the same difference with

which he closed the semi-final.

In the final phase (three parallel races and three

individual zones), Bou maintained his supremacy and finished off his exhibition at the

last hurdle, when he was already assured of victory.

Toni Bou: “I’m very happy with this win. It was important to win again, as the championship is very short and offers little chance of recovering

adverse results; and also because I’m going to arrive in Barcelona in the lead, which is a big challenge for me.

Added incentive. It has been a very difficult test and also very physically hard. Also, when I saw that they were attending to Fujinami on the track after his fall, I was I’m worried about him and, logically, the incident has taken my focus off the ground.”
