The Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona will be the scene of the final fight for the title of X-Trial World Champion 2021 on November 21 from 17:00 (local time).
In the so-called “Cathedral” of the X-Trial World Championship, the number one in the speciality that Toni Bou (Repsol Montesa-HRC) has dominated with an iron fist over the last 14 seasons will be decided. Precisely, the World Champion will arrive in Barcelona as the top candidate for the title after winning the X-Trial Andorra la Vella, completing the entire Round 2 and the Final without any penalty.
The other two occupants of the Andorran podium of the season, Adam Raga (TRRS) and Jaime Busto (Vertigo) are, by classification, Bou’s most direct rivals in the fight for the title. Raga has won the Barcelona event on 6 occasions, the last one was in 2019 beating Bou in a hard-fought final by a single point. For his part, Busto stood on the podium at the Palau Sant Jordi for the last time in the same year, occupying third place. A year earlier, Jeroni Fajardo (Sherco) had achieved it, another of the men to take into account when making predictions for Barcelona.
The Italian Matteo Grattarola (Beta) was on the verge of the podium in Andorra la Vella after having been the best in Round 1 and does not rule out continuing to surprise in the event in Barcelona. Miquel Gelabert (Gas Gas) will be looking to make up for his bad luck in the opening round, in which a fall in the second zone of Round 2 knocked him out. His teammate, Jorge Casales, will be looking to repeat the podium achieved in 2020, when he finished third in the season of his return to Gas Gas.
Finally, the youngest, Gabriel Marcelli (Montesa) and Toby Martyn (TRRS) will be looking to surprise in this historic round of the World Championship that, for the first time, will close the season and proclaim the World Champion.
