Banyeres presents its young team

Gelabert400The Llémena Valley (Girona) was last Sunday, February 26th, an idyllic place to present the ” Banyeres-Clice” team of this 2012. A team this year directly supported by the Barcelona motorcycle shop Non Stop Bikes and the Spanish-French brand Sherco.

The day began with a lunch for all the guests at the event where, in addition to Pep Banyeres, there were also many other collaborators such as, Tato Prat and Tere Ferraz (Clice), Josep Paxau and Lluís Gallach (Sherco), Gustavo Pütz (GP Recambios), Michel Kauffman (S3 parts), Leo Leonelli (Leonelli), Jose Antonio Martín (Planxauto), Arturo Gimenez (AG motor).

The team also has the collaboration of neumaticos.com and the Catalan motorcycling federation.

One more year the riders of the Motoclub Llémena, the brothers Aniol and Miquel Gelabert are the members of the team, where now at the hands of a Sherco they will compete in the Catalan Championship, the Spanish Championship and Miquel will also be present in the European Youth Cup.

Pep Banyeres:
“One more year I think it is very important to help grassroots sport, and with these two young people it is a pleasure due to the charisma and friendliness they exude”

Ramon Sallés, head of the motorcycle shop Non Stop Bikes: “We really want to help the younger riders, we already do it with Jaime Busto and Marc Riba and now with this project that they proposed to us with the Gelabert brothers it is a small way to ensure the future of this sport.”

gelabert460Victor Colomer, Director of Sherco Spain: “Following the line started previously by riders such as Josep Manzano, José Mª Juan, David Millán, Mateo Gratarola, …, or more recently with Oriol Noguera within the Sherco Academy, we always look to pamper and take care of young riders who can reach the elite of this sport. Logically, when they talked to us about this project with Aniol and Miquel, we didn’t hesitate for a moment since they are two riders that we are very excited to join the Sherco Academy.”

Aniol and Miquel“We want to thank all the collaborators because they help us and give us advice to improve. They don’t ask us for results, just that we have fun on the bike and that we try our best. We know that what they are doing is a very big effort and we will try to make them happy.”

The two members of the Banyeres-Clice team debuted last weekend in Posadas (Córdoba), on the occasion of the 1st junior and women’s race and the 2nd cadet, junior and tr-3 race of the Spanish Championship.
