We have already passed the halfway point of the 2024 TrialGP World Championship with the celebration of the two days scoring for the German GP, held in Neunkirchen.
The level of the zones and the weather has been much more favourable than in the last races, so the scores have been substantially lower and therefore the results have been tighter in all categories, especially in the fight to get into the podium positions.
In the top category we witnessed a new exhibition by Toni Bou, who after his worrying discomfort from the Italian GP, where he complained of dizziness that finally came from a problem in the eardrum of his ear, arrived in Neunkirchen in full physical faculties.
Saturday set an impressive pace from the first lap, which only Jaime Busto was able to follow throughout the race.
Both drivers scored less than half the points of their closest rival, who was a surprising Jorge Casales.
The Galician rider, who races under a private structure with the support of TRRS, is having a great season, regularly, even after missing the first round of the Japanese GP.
This third position is a historic result for a driver of his private condition and he is already eighth, six points behind Aniol Gelabert, official TRRS driver, who is not having the expected results in recent races.
In Germany he was tenth and eleventh.
Gabriel Marcelli remains second in the general classification and, although he lost points both days to Jaime Busto, his main rival, he still has a five-point advantage.
On Saturday he was on the verge of the podium and on Sunday he did manage to climb to the third podium, with records much closer to the leading duo.
Jaime Busto is making fantastic progression in the championship.
In Germany he was able to bring out a much more efficient and consistent riding, being the only one capable of intimidating Toni Bou and fighting for the victory.
Being aware that the title would only be possible with a miracle, his focus on the runner-up spot is having an effect and, if he maintains the progression, he could be placed in this position next week in Belgium.
Good work also by Matteo Grattarola, who signed two fourth positions and is showing himself to be consistent this season.
Right now, as we said, he is tied with Adam Raga and has access to the podium on only 14 points.
We also highlight the good work of Miquel Gelabert, sixth and eighth in Germany, with good sensations and times that could have led him to fight for the podium.
JACK PEACE MORE LEADER OF TRIAL2
Jack Peace has signed a double victory in Trial2, a result that propels him with more distance in a lead that he already managed to assume in Italy. After Peace we have Alex Canales, who after signing two third positions keeps the pulse of the fight for the title, although behind him he has two rivals very close: Billy Green and Arnau Farré.
Green is three points behind and Farré is seven points behind.
These fourth drivers will be the ones who will play for the title and the podium positions at the end of the season.
HEMINGWAY UNBEATABLE
In Trial3, George Hemingway’s overwhelming dominance, who counts his performances for victories in 2024.
Behind him, Euan Sim continues to stand out, second in both days in Germany.
Behind us we have Romeo Piquet in the general standings, who loses Sim’s rope after Sunday’s eighth place.
On the podium of this second day was Johannes Heidel.
BERTA ABELLÁN AND EMMA BRISTOW SHARE THE VICTORIES
The women returned to action at the Japanese GP, tackling their third and fourth scoring races.
On Saturday, Bristow dominated, with Abellán closing the podium, a result that was reversed on Sunday.
The second step of the podium was alternated by Monnier on Saturday and Rabino on Sunday.
Now, Berta and Emma are separated by ten points in the general standings in favor of the Briton.
For Trial2 women it was the first race, with a double victory for the Italian Sherco Martina Brandani.
From behind.
Saline Meling on Sunday and Laia Pi on Saturday.
The third step of the podium was alternated by Lonycz and Weber.
The activity of the Trial World Championship does not cease and this coming weekend the riders will be present in Belgium to compete in the penultimate TrialGP of the 2024 season.
