A spectacular full house at the Palau Sant Jordi has witnessed one of the most exciting races of the Indoor Trial World Championship.
This excitement was mainly on two fronts: first, to know how the duel between Busto and Bou in the fight for the title was resolved, and second, the retirement of Adam Raga as a professional rider after 27 seasons in active service.
The first of the fronts was soon resolved, as Jaime Busto arrived convalescing from a strong blow on Friday morning that left him with three broken ribs and a strong blow to the sternum, something that completely conditioned his physical capacity from the first round. In fact, Jaime finished this Q1 in seventh position, leaving everything in the hands of the demanding Q2 to know if he could climb to at least fourth position. Something that did not happen, as Adam Raga recorded four seconds less in the three zones that scored in this round. A result that left him completely out of action for the general classification, since he had only 2 points in Barcelona, compared to 20 for Toni Bou.
Final: BOU DOES NOT FAIL AND RAGA SURPRISES
The rest of Q1 ended with Raga fourth, followed by Aniol, Grattarola, Busto himself and Hemingway.
In Q2, with the best time for Raga, the final was four between Bou, Marcelli, Raga and Bincaz.
The Frenchman has been losing podium options as the 6 zones were disputed in favor of Gabriel Marcelli who, for his part, has chained 4 fives from the second section and has said goodbye to the possibilities of being second although Adam Raga has had a great role in it who after the fourth zone added 10 points riding with great determination and was already the only rival of a Bou who has scored the victory before entering the penultimate section. Raga put an end to his sporting career in front of a dedicated audience that also vibrated with Bou’s victory and the Spanish podium rounded off with Marcelli’s third place.
