Toni Bou faces the Andorran GP in his most complicated season

After the TrialGPs in Spain and Japan comes the TrialGP of Andorra, an important event for the Repsol Honda Team where it hopes to have its riders in better physical condition than in the previous rounds of the World Championship.
Toni Bou returns to a terrain he knows well, since he has won up to six times in the different participations in the Andorran round of the Trial World Championship, and although last year he finished on the third step of the podium, the goal for this 2018 is to climb to the top of the podium in another of the races that he can consider “at home”. Bou is the leader of the TrialGP category with a two-point advantage over the second and third placed riders.
The goal of Bou’s Repsol Honda Team teammate, Takahisa Fujinami, is to try to return to the podium, as he did at Motegi. ‘Fujigas’ is in sixth place in the provisional standings and is waiting for the physical performance of his right shoulder, battered in a round of the Spanish Trial Championship weeks before the start of the World Championship.

The Andorra TrialGP will have the qualifying area in the centre of Sant Julià de Lòria, which will be held on Saturday from 15:00 hours. The route will have fifteen areas, the vast majority of them located in the Nagol area, which will have to be done twice. The start of the race will take place on Sunday in the heart of the town of Sant Julià from nine in the morning.

In Japan I didn’t feel good, I had a relapse in my back injury and I wasn’t well. This told us that this year will be complicated. You have to be alert at all times, so you don’t relapse. We’ve been working on my back and I’m quite happy, I have some discomfort, but less than when we started the World Cup. I hope to have a good race, I want to get a good result, and it will be very important to be on the podium to get points for the championship. It will be difficult to win, but we will also go to get the most out of it. You have to focus so you don’t make mistakes in the qualifying round.

It’s been ten days since the Japanese TrialGP, where at home I felt very supported by the fans who came to Motegi and I gave my best to be able to get on the podium. For the race in Andorra I hope to be much better physically and to be able to get back to the necessary pace to be in the podium positions without suffering too much.
