Toni Bou and Jaime Busto will break the tie in the X-Trial of Clermont-Ferrand

The 2025 FIM X-Trial World Championship arrives for the first time in Clermont-Ferrand this Friday, promising an electrifying night from 20:00 at the Zenith d’Auvergne.

The competition is at a high point, with eighteen times world champion Toni Bou (Repsol Honda Trial Team) and Jaime Busto (GasGas), two-time world runner-up, tied on points after two exciting rounds. Jaime Busto took the victory in the X-Trial in Madrid, while Bou took second place. However, in the next round in Chambéry, Toni Bou managed to prevail, swapping positions with Busto. Both lead the overall standings with 35 points each.

Among the outstanding contenders is also Adam Raga (Sherco), who is living his farewell season with two consecutive finals and a podium to his credit. Raga is in third place in the standings with a three-point advantage over Gabriel Marcelli (Repsol Honda Trial Team). Marcelli, who had a difficult start in Madrid, managed to redeem himself in Chambéry by reaching third place, just one point behind second place.

French rider Benoit Bincaz (Sherco) is looking to return to the final after being knocked out in the last round, hoping to repeat a Top 3 like the one he achieved in Madrid. For his part, Grattarola (Beta) returns after a disappointing 2024 season, in which he was unable to shine after a fourth place in the opening round in Barcelona. In addition, the young talents Dufrese (Beta) and Green (Scorpa) continue their development in this demanding and spectacular discipline.

The event will take place at the Zenith d’Auvergne, a venue recognized by the French Ministry of Culture, which has hosted important sporting events such as the Davis Cup and the start of the Paris-Dakar rally, as well as concerts by international artists such as Lenny Kravitz, Bob Dylan, Scorpions, Mark Knopfler and Ed Sheeran.

X-Trial fans can look forward to an adrenaline-filled night, where the world’s best riders will demonstrate their skill in a unique setting. Tickets are available, and a full house is anticipated for this historic debut in Clermont-Ferrand.
