Toni Bou, 2021 Trial World Champion after winning the Portuguese GP

Toni Bou has been proclaimed 2021 TrialGP World Champion. The rider from Piera, who has also won the race in Portugal with 125 GP victories, has accumulated 15 consecutive crowns in TrialGP and 14 indoors: 29 titles for the greatest.

The Repsol Honda Team rider set the tone from the start in a race with natural and selective areas in which the water of the river that passes through the Portuguese town of Gouveia made the first of the 12 sections of the route quite slippery.

Bou reached the end of the race with enough of an advantage over his rivals, taking the Montesa Cota 4RT rider’s 125th victory in the Trial World Championship. This season he has achieved a total of 7 victories in the 2021 Trial World Championship, conquering, for the fifteenth consecutive time, the title of TrialGP World Champion.

"Toni Bou now has 125 GP victories and 15 outdoor world titles, 29 if we take into account the indoor ones."

Adam Raga, on the other hand, has confirmed the runner-up position he mathematically achieved in the Spanish GP last week.

The third final step of the podium went to Jaime Busto, who once again showed a high level, with options for victory and surprising not only for his riding, but also for the great regularity he showed.

DECLARATIONS

toni bou (P1)"This year has been very special for me because at the beginning things were very complicated for me with the injury a month before the start of the championship. In the end there will come a year in which I can't win – I've been winning 15 years in a row – but the fact that I got injured just before the start of the world championship was special and I didn't want to lose a championship like this. Once again we fought 100%, we got back into shape as the championship progressed and the fact that I had a very good pace of work before I got injured also helped me to recover faster. I'm very happy to be able to win another World Cup. Once again, thank you very much to the whole team. Today was also a very special day for everyone with Fujinami's last race. It's very hard to think of the HRC team without him. I wish him all the best in his future."
