The world elite of Trial will inaugurate the 2025 season in the Malaga town of Benahavis, bringing together the best male and female riders in the most technical discipline of motorcycling. With the countdown running, the Spanish TrialGP Grand Prix is warming up and preparing to become the global epicentre of this sport.
The 2025 TrialGP World Championship will start on April 4, 5 and 6 in Benahavis, Malaga, with the Spanish TrialGP Grand Prix. In just one month, this picturesque Andalusian town will kick off the world’s top competition in a motorsport speciality that is as technical as it is impressively spectacular.
More than 80 riders from different categories will compete on a unique track. Among them, Toni Bou stands out, the most successful rider in the history of Trial and possibly of any sporting discipline, with 36 world titles (18 in TrialGP and 18 in X-Trial). It is very likely that Bou will arrive in Benahavis with his 37th title under his arm, after the conclusion of the X-Trial 2025.
Alongside him, the current world runner-up, the also Spanish Berta Abellán will seek her first title in TrialGP Women, while in Trial2, Trial2 Women and Trial3, the fight for glory will be completely open. Spain will have a wide representation of riders, facing rivals from countries such as France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan or Norway. In addition, the event will mark a milestone with the participation of three electric motorcycle brands.
The event is organized by the Benahavis Motorist Sports Club, with the support of the Andalusian Motorcycling Federation, the Royal Spanish Motorcycling Federation and the Benahavis City Council.
The World Championship returns to Andalusia
Benahavis, the most mountainous town on the Western Costa del Sol, will write its name in the history of Trial. Although it is the first time that this town hosts an event of such magnitude, the Trial World Championship has already visited Andalusia on several occasions. The last time was in Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo (2012), with victory, of course, by Toni Bou.
Other editions of the TrialGP in Andalusia have been held in Córdoba (2000), Mancha Real (2007) and the aforementioned Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo.
Pre-event activities
Before the competition starts, various activities will be held for media and fans:
- Thursday, April 3: Official press conference with representatives of the organization and outstanding drivers. Place and time to be confirmed.
- Friday, April 4 (afternoon): Autograph signing session with the best TrialGP riders. Place and time to be confirmed.
Route and attention to fans
The nerve center of the event will be in the municipal soccer field, where the race office, the press room and the autograph signing area will be located. In addition:
- Paddock in Huerta de Rufino and La Rivera streets, with the assistance of the main official teams.
- Route of 10 km, with 8 areas accessible on foot from the town centre and another 4 in the surrounding area.
- Giant screens to follow the race live.
- Parking is available at the entrance to Benahavís and a second car park 2 km away with minibus service.
