Spain wins the Indoor Trial of Nations

bou_cabes_480The Indoor Trial of Nations , which returns this Friday, April 6, is a team race that has been held since 1984. During this time, changes have been made to the regulations , such as inviting two drivers per team, instead of four as in other editions.

On Friday, five riders with a fixed place in the X-Trial World Championship will meet, so the bar is very high and the excitement is served. The favourite nation is Spain, which has won consecutively the last 8 editions (18 in total) and will be represented by the six-time World Champion in Indoor territory, Toni Bou , and the recently proclaimed runner-up, Albert  Cabestany.

Great Britain (Brown/Dabill), France (Gubian/Ferrer), Japan (Fujinami/Ogawa) and Norway (Pedersen/Andersen) will compete against Spain.

Toni Bou: “TDN is an important competition for me, so the reintroduction of the X-Trial of Nations will be positive both personally and sportingly. Nice is a great place and trial has a huge following. I’m really looking forward to working with Albert again, he’s an amazing driver, as well as a good friend. Our goal is to win and as the two best Indoor riders we feel confident, although we will have Japan and Great Britain in front of us, who will surely be strong as well.”

Albert Cabestany: “It’s important to have a new championship and the opportunity to win another title. We’re going to work as we’ve done every weekend in the X-Trial World Championship. There are never any guarantees, but Toni and I are in the top positions and we are the favourites, so we will work together to maintain this role and achieve the best result.”

The X-Trial of Nations will be held at the Palais Nikaia (Nice) and will be broadcast live on Motors TV on Friday from 21:00 local time (link)
