Previous Indoor Geneva

bou_genovaThe Indoor X-Trial World Championship passes the halfway point of its calendar with the event that is due to be held this coming weekend in Geneva. Everything points to the fact that we will witness a new recital by
Toni Bou, who is proving to be absolutely intractable in the three races that we have already played, where he
has achieved full victories. His rivals will not make things easy for the Montesa rider: Cabestany he knows what it’s like to beat Bou, especially indoors, where in the last two editions (2009 and 2010) he was able to beat the reigning champion in Marseille; Raga, on the other hand, needs a good result, not only as a psychological blow to Bou, but also to fight for the hotly contested runner-up spot.

In the event that Bou scores another victory, it would practically leave the championship sentenced, with only two races remaining. The drivers agree that with the new regulations it is easy to miss out on the qualifying rounds if you make too many mistakes or have mechanical problems, as Dougie Lampkin showed in his first performance with Gas Gas in Sheffield, or Fujinami himself in Barcelona. It’s important to be very focused and not to fail.

pilotos_indoorI’m sure that Ossa rider Jeroni Fajardo

and Takahisa Fujinami will also fight hard to get into that top 3. Both are great candidates to be at the top, but the level of leadership is very high and mistakes have no place. Fajardo is improving little by little, adapting to a bike that he has barely known for a month and where there is a lot of work to do, but it has already become clear that the line of work is positive.

bouraga_slideFujinami, surely more recovered from his neck injury, will fight to at least consolidate the fourth position at the head of the provisional standings.

It certainly won’t be easy. Beta’s young British rider, Jack Challoner, has exceeded all expectations and has already signed a magnificent fifth place in Barcelona. He knows he can be at the front and he needs, above all, to gain experience. Dabill is having worse luck, a rider from whom practically everything was expected this season and, at least for the moment, counts his performances as failures, as he has not yet managed to successfully pass the qualifying rounds.

In any case, a new
weekend full of desire, excitement and expectation
awaits us to see how the great competition between the leading riders is resolved. From Trialworld we will be in the know to tell you all the news and results of the event.
