Miquel Gelabert has announced that he is suffering from an injury to his left ankle, which undoubtedly causes him to miss the first race of the 2019 X-Trial World Championship
Budapest opens the
X-Trial World Championship
on January 20, with five permanent riders and four wild-card riders. Miquel Gelabert, on his own merits and results, has earned one of the five fixed places, but his injury prevents him from being in the race this coming weekend.
The Sherco rider will undergo a CT scan tomorrow (Tuesday) to determine the extent of the injury. Depending on the size of the crack and the medical report, we will know if Gelabert will be at least ready for the X-Trial in Barcelona, which takes place on February 3 at the Palau Sant Jordi.
