Adam Raga is a SHERCO official driver for the 2024 season. With the signing of the contract between the rider and Marc Teissier, owner of the brand, A few months are put to an end where one of the great axes of conversation in trial was to understand what the future of the six-time world champion would be after his departure from TRS Motorcycles.
Since last September, when Adam Raga’s disassociation with the brand whose colours he has defended since 2016 was announced, the rider from Tarragona has tried by all means to remain active as a professional rider for at least one more year, something motivated by the passion for this specialty and also by the fact that he did not conclude his sporting stage with a bittersweet feeling.
Throughout these months there have been conversations with practically all brands for 2024, but finally it has been Sherco who will have Adam Raga in its ranks as an official driver of the brand, replacing Jeroni Fajardo and teaming up with another rider, who will presumably continue to be Benoit Bincaz.
For Marc Teissier, owner of SHERCO, the arrival of Raga is great news and brings extra motivation to the project of the new bike, which was launched on the market just a year ago and sees in the rider a very interesting figure for technical evolution both in the series and in competition. According to Marc: “Adam contacted us and we met at SHERCO, so he could see the factory and the new engine, which is 1.7kg lighter. He told me that he wanted to feel competing, that he liked the bike. I told him that we still had to work more on the bike for TrialGP.”
In addition, Teissier clarifies the priority of Raga’s role in the brand: “Our agreement is that Adam must develop the new bike for the world championship. I have great confidence in him for this job, and he will later be in charge of the trial at Sherco as a trainer and manager.”
For Adam Raga himself, this alliance is a peace of mind, as it allows him to remain active and also have a very interesting project at the development level. According to the rider: “The feeling with the bike is very good, it has a great base design and my goal is to keep improving it to make it the best trial bike in the world.”
Adam Raga’s debut with Sherco is scheduled for this Saturday, January 13 at the Sheffield Arena, where an indoor trial is held that does not count for the World Championship, but with a lot of appeal and public.
