Spain has had the privilege of hosting the 2024 Trial of Nations, this time in the Leonese town of Pobladura de las Regueras and, as it could not be otherwise, the two Spanish teams have been protagonists.
In the men’s category, the team was made up of Toni Bou, Gabriel Marcelli and Adam Raga.
The latter was summoned by the RFME since it would be the last time for him in which he played such an important event.
It was undoubtedly a reward for his successful and extensive sports career.
Next to him, the incombustible, Toni Bou, and his teammate, Gabriel Marcelli, champion and runner-up of TrialGP 2024.
In the women’s category, the TrialGP Women’s world runner-up, Berta Abellán, was accompanied by the very young Laia Pi, also runner-up in the world but in Trial2, and by Daniela Hernando, who faced with great fortitude, possibly the most important race for her so far.
Pobladura de las Regueras received the participants with rain which left the areas complicated, slippery, with grass that made the wheels slip, but nothing was enough to defeat ours.
In addition, some of them were in the river, which made the race one of the most beautiful.
Spain has 30 titles in the TdN, 20 in a row
The three Spanish riders were colossal and a good example are only the 38 points they scored at the end of the race.
Italy had 86 and France 106.
Bou, Marcelli and Raga showed why they are the best in this discipline and the Spanish fans enjoyed their enormous potential in each area.
In this way, Spain adds a new title in the Trial of Nations that continues, year after year, unstoppable.
Abellán, Pi and Hernando, third
The objective of the women’s team was the podium and the three more than fulfilled.
Berta, who is much more experienced than Laia and Daniela in this race, was the leader of the group and the three of them formed a very complete team.
Both Pi and Hernando are very young, but they have already shown that they have a great future ahead of them.
This has been only the first contact with the Trial of Nations.
There will be more and they will be on the top step of the podium.
